So, sometime this week, I was watching Missy Elliot's video "Work It", and I realized the small "little white girl" shaking her booty in the vid. I remember always wondering who she was and where she learned she dance like that. You may recognize her dancing for artists such as again Missy Elliot, Outcast, and Eminem, or for her roles on Disney's The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Step Up and Step Up 3. Evidently, she is extremely talented, but what is really mind blowing is her dancing skills!

Kim Kardashian: Wedding Bliss

As we all know reality star Kim Kardashian and pro basketball player Kris Humphries tied the knot this past Saturday, August 20, 2011. Their engagement was definately a surprise to many, as most were shocked by Kim's new love interest and also at the fact that they chose to tie the knot so soon. However, it was obvious that Kim K was dying to get married and to start a family, so when the opportunity finally presented itself she just couldn't resist. Clearly, she had planned to settle down with pro NFL player Reggie Bush, but apparently he wasn't at all ready for the lifestyle she was trying to push him into...(hence their breakup). Nevertheless, Kim is now finally the wife she has been longing to be. Many reliable sources claim that the wedding was beautiful, and hopefully their marriage would be just as much as a fairy tale.

And flash! right before our eyes our favorite Latina duo has undergone a major transformation! Pictured above (picture 1) is Nina Sky now, and below (picture 2) is Nina Sky then! And wow, what a change! I love their new look, as I'm sure we can all agree that it is more edgy and fashion forward than before. Hopefully, we will be hearing more sweet music from these ladies sooner than we think!

Okay, so rather than being the typical blogger and wasting my time posting my own (negative) comments and opinions about Miss Natalie Nunn and her new love interest who she refers to as "Bermuda", instead I'll say this:
We cannot disregard the fact that "currently" these two are an item, as it it quite obvious, however, it is no surprise to me that many of the media sites and other bloggers are posting not only negative comments in regards to the two, but they are also posting false and or twisted information. I personally, like to get the "facts straight" before I even think about posting information about "celebs" in particular. I mean Global Grind...19 years old? Come on! Nevertheless, it is always most entertaining to read about the "stretched out truth", or negative things that we often find amusing.

In no way am I defending Natalie or her new "boyfriend", because truthfully, there are some things that I think about the situation that may be claimed to be negative, however, with respect to them, I choose not to post it. Every blogger/ media site is different, and no disrespect to those who choose to do otherwise.

I think these two have received enough lashes from the media. I mean people on Media Takout were going IN! After all, why do we care anyway. We keep people relevant even while lashing them...right?

But...we'll see how long this "fling" will last...haha.

DIY

This is another cool DIY project. With many of the clothing that I post, I often encourage many of you to DO IT YOURSELF. And I do this because sometimes it is extremely hard to find the pieces that I post or things similar to them, therefore, the best alternative is to make it into a fun DIY project.

Find an old pair of denim shorts or jeans (cut them if they are jeans), and then go to your local craft/fabric store and buy feathers to sew or glue on to the pockets of your shorts. Or, if you have an old or worn out pair of feather earrings you can use them on your jeans.

Inspirations such as this encourage me more and more to begin to shop at thrift and vintage stores. Obviously, the denim jacket she is wearing is an old vintage 80/90's piece, yet she somehow finds a way to make it look trendy by pairing it with a floral dress, straw hat and a colorful lip. I can not stress it more...re-use and recycle! Ladies, if you dig into the back of your mom, aunts or grandmother's closets you may be surprised what you find! From hats and purses, to scarfs and shirts. Glam it up, cut it up, do whatever it takes to "update" the look and make it more you! You can create several new looks without spending a dime!

My Favorite Show NY Undercover

Okay, so this is me introducing YOU to my favorite show ever, New York Undercover. It's a awesome show from the '90s that aired from 1994-1998, and I absolutely love it. Some of you may be familiar with the show, others may not, so for those of you who aren't I present it to you. I urge everyone to check it out. Big Happy Family

Pictured above is Kimora Lee Simmons, hubby Djimon Hounsou and their beautiful son Kenzo. He has grown so quickly, its almost unbelievable. Also, to my surprise his skin is dark. Now, I'm not big on skin color, and race etc., I could care less, I believe that interracial love is beautiful, but obviously in this situation, Kenzo took more of his dad's genes in that department. Nevertheless, he is healthy and adorable,...and who can ask for anything better?!

Update on Nicki's Boob Slip

Again, as you all may know, in a recent performance on Good Morning America, Miss Nicki Minaj experienced a more than "slight" wardrobe malfunction. However, despite this mishap, as a result it has caused much controversy. Apparently many viewers are complaining about the station airing such explicit content, yet how could they have possibly known that something such as this was going to occur, let alone on national television. Unfortunately, these things happen, and it was beyond the control of the station and camera crew in particular. The main issue was that many viewers who watch the show every morning with their families and other younger viewers, claim that this content was completely "inappropriate" for younger viewers in particular to say the least. But again, we cannot dispute that this is simply a part of nature, and creating such an uproar about it is definitely unnecessary. Without a doubt, we can agree that everyone got more out of this performance than we bargained for!

Live Birth of an Elephant!

Dogs and elephants have always been my favorite animals. I think I grew a lover for elephants through my aunt, who absolutely adores them. She has all kinds of pictures, figurines and statues of elephants all around her home. I was also so taken up by their intelligence and miraculous size. I wouldn't say that I'm "obsessed" with them as much as the typical elephant lover, but again, I have certainly always had a love for them.

Never the less, above is a 2 and a half minute clip of a mother elephant, giving birth to her baby. Again, this footage is extremly graphic, but very intersting and beautiful. I decided to look for a video clip of the birth of an elephant after I saw this picture (below) of what appears to be an elephant fetus. It is all so interesting...have a look!

Elephant Facts:

The elephant, more than any other animal closely follows the life cycle of human beings. A pregnant elephant's gestation period is between 18 and 22 months. Towards the end of pregnancy the mother will choose another female from the herd as an 'auntie' to help with the birth and the rearing of her offspring. Twins occur very rarely.

The young are suckled up to the age of four years old although they will start developing an interest in solids from as young as six months. As the infant grows the whole family group is involved in its protection, education and discipline.

In the early teens they become sexually mature and from the age of 16 a female can reproduce. A cow rarely has more than four children through her lifetime.

Between the ages of 25 and 40 elephants are in their prime of life and the peak of their physical powers. After 40 they begin to slow down but have the advantage of experience. At about 55 old age starts to set in, if they are lucky they will reach 70 but greater ages have been accurately recorded. There are many romantic myths of 100 year old elephants but these do not sadly stand up to rigorous examination.

What Do You Think Of Matching Tattoos?

Okay, so here's the deal with this. The girl in the picture posted this photo on her blog, then it was later "reblogged" by somone else. This "someone", shared her views on the idea of a boy and a girl getting matching tattoos. The girl in the picture later read what this "someone" had to say about it, and then...shxt hit the fan. Here it is...

The "Someone" said:

i would never get a matching tattoo with my BF, it looks cute now but when they break-up, cause OH they will she’s gonna be salt.

The girl in the picture said:

Well hello Ms. -----, just informing you that as ignorant as you are, you’re hating is well appreciated. Its obvious true love is something you’re completely oblivious towards. But take a minute to stop being so absent minded and realize that it DOES exist. People do get together and spend the rest of there lifetimes happily in love with one another. Petty arguments and disagreements, jealousy, distance, pain, suffering, hardships, and fortune have nothing against the power of true, undying love. You know not a damn thing about our relationship, what brought us together, and the love we share. How could you have the audacity to say that we “WILL break up”. Who are you again? Oh…right, you’re the girl who “would never get a matching tattoo with your BF”. Well guess what hunny, your boyfriend isn’t mine. We DO have matching ‘Simba’ & ‘Nala’ tattoos though, i’m sure you’d hate them as well. And towards our relationship, who knows, whether my boyfriend and I stay together forever, or break-up tomorrow, i’ll NEVER regret the tattoo, because i’ll never regret the love we share. He’s been a blessing to my life, and no matter what happens, i’ll always love him the same.
Remind me in 50 years to somehow find you and rub our amazing love in your face…because i promise it will last “to infinity and beyond.”



So what sucks for this "someone", is that she was criticizing the girl in the picture's relationship and the fact that they chose to get what she THOUGHT were matching tattoos, was that they were in fact not matching at all. His is about music, and her's says "To infinity and beyond", which is clearly what she failed to realize. I understand both sides, but I definitely agree that one's decision is one's decision, and no one else has the authority to criticize what anyone chooses to do. If this couple did in fact get matching tatts, why is it any of your business, or your concern for that matter. I mean, personally, I myself don't believe that I will ever get a matching tattoo with a boyfriend of mine, but I really wouldn't dog anyone else for doing so either.

MAC Lipsticks!

 

Here's a huge MAC lipstick collection. I am a fan of MAC products, and I'll say about 90% of the time, I'm wearing MAC brand lipsticks. However, an issue when choosing lip colors is the color that they appear to look in the store and the color that they are on your lips! Most of the time, when swatching these lip colors on your hand, you are pleased with the color, but when you get home, it doesn't look so good on your lips. This  happens to me a lot. Although the makeup artists working at the counter will apply the lip color to your lips so that you could see what it looks like on before you buy, I am so not comfortable doing that, so most times I will buy a lip color, get home and try it on myself, and then discover that I don't like it. This may seem like a huge waste of money, however I prefer to do that than apply on a "public lipstick". The great thing about MAC is that you can return 6 empty MAC product containers, and receive a free lipstick, which is what I often do. This is apart of MAC's recycling program.
